Billy Anton joined the PCD Foundation board in 2016 after being a volunteer for several years and currently serves as Chair. He attended DePaul University in Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Sales Leadership from the Driehaus School of Business. Upon graduating from college, Billy began working for his family business, a custom rubber manufacturer called Rahco Rubber. He has several roles within the company, including: production manager, inventory control manager, and purchasing director. In addition to his duties with the PCD Foundation and Rahco Rubber, Billy also serves as a panel member on an American Thoracic Society (ATS) committee, which aims to establish diagnostic guidelines for PCD.
Billy is one of two in his family who has PCD. His older sister, Molly, also has the disease but presents quite different symptomatically. Billy manages severe lung disease and moderate sinusitis, while his sister has experienced mostly sinus‐related problems and only minimal lung issues. This truly speaks to the wide range of symptoms and severity associated with PCD.
