Heidi Bjornson‐Pennell joined the PCD Foundation in 2013. After graduating with Distinction from Columbia University, Heidi received her Diploma in Law from the University of Law and Post‐Graduate Diploma in Law from City University London, Inns of Court School of Law. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a barrister in 1998, and admitted to the Hon. Society of Middle Temple. She practiced at One Pump Court and Doughty Street Chambers in the highest level of the British courts. In 2001, Heidi was admitted to the California Bar, practicing at Keker & Van Nest LLP (“Litigation Boutique of the Year”) and at the State Public Defender.
She has volunteered with Liberty (London) and Legal Services for Children (S.F.), and has been a board member of several California legal organizations, including CACJ (2000+ attorneys.) Heidi was a founding board member of Leah’s Pantry (“promoting healthier lives and preventing disease amongst underserved populations.”) Heidi is currently Board Member and Co‐VP of Sponsorship of the Jr.Committee of the San Francisco Symphony, Co‐VP of the Parent Association at French American International School, and Co‐Chairs the Annual Fund. Heidi’s husband, Dr. Andrew Pennell, is a pharmaceutical executive. They have three beautiful children, two of whom have PCD.
