PCD Foundation Press Release

Keep Waving for PCD!

April 1, 2009, Phoenix Arizona--

Dear PCD Community,

Join PCD patients, families and friends on Saturday, May 23 from 10-12 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for the Keep Waving! Event to raise awareness about PCD and to raise money to benefit the PCD Foundation.

Our goal is to have at least 100 people out waving on May 23 and to raise at least $5000 for the PCD Foundation.  For more information about the event visit our website at www.KeepWavingPCD.com.  We need your help to make this event a success.

There are many ways to make a difference.  Please consider participating in one or more of the options below.

1.  Be a "waver".  Wavers will be at the event waving to passers-by and handing out PCD information to interested parties.  Before the event wavers will raise money for the PCD Foundation by gathering sponsors.  You can register for the event at http://www.keepwavingpcd.com/Register.html.

2.  Be a sponsor.  Sponsor someone you know while they are getting the word out for PCD.  Don't know any participants, you can make a donation directly to the PCD foundation at http://www.pcdfoundation.org/paypalcontribution.htm.

3.  Pass the word on to family and friends about the event.  The more people we have waving or sponsoring the more the PCD community is benefited.  We will have a letter available on the Keep Waving PCD website shortly.  You can send this one or personalize your own.  We also have a Keep Waving PCD group on Facebook.  Ask your friends to join the Facebook group.

4.  Send a letter to your representatives in Washington.  Let them know about the event and your concern about the funding of PCD related research.  We will have letters available on the Keep Waving PCD website soon.

5.  Start your own Keep Waving! Event for May 23 in your community.  We would love to have this be a national event next year.

6.  If you live in the Washington, DC area we could use help with event planning and organizing.  You can contact us at info@keepwavingpcd.com.

This event is being organized by Mary Rose Kitlowski and her family, husband Ed Kitlowski, parents Herb and Fran Goldstein and sister and brother-in-law Rebekah and George Giannakos.  Both Mary and Rebekah have PCD.

We hope to see you on May 23.  Check the Keep Waving PCD website for updates before and after the event.  Thank you for your help.
